Malaysian Food Street

We went for a visit to S.E.A aquarium and was so hungry after the walk. My friend then suggest we went to the Malaysian Food Street as she suddenly missed Penang Assam Laksa. It is created as a unique old-town ambiance to flavour the experience of indulging in some of Malaysia's finest and famous hawker fare. Food generally expensive at this street but still a good choice if you have Malaysian food craving.

Lor Bak Set($10) - lor bak refers to the tender meat marinated in authentic five-spice powder from Penang and rolled in soya bean sheets. The dish below show the lor bak set whcih included other ingredient like fish ball, prawn fritter, century egg, Taiwan sausage etc. It is served together with the special sauce.  I wasn't sure about the actual taste from Penang but the one served here tasted good for me.

Claypot Chicken Rice ($9.50) - we ordered the one with salted fish. This claypot rice is fail for me. It is not cook enough and taste really normal. May be the staff is rushing to serve us?

We all felt Penang Assam Laksa($5) has it standard. We all not from Pennag but I like the taste and everything. We feel it is quite close to what we had in Penang.

The Fried Kway Teow($5.50) tasted not bad, non sweet version and the prawn is fresh and bit, slightly too oily for me, else it will be perfect for me.
